The beginning of the movie is very different than the rest of the movie. I say this because in Christmas time everybody is happy and full of peace and joy....not as the movie was. Something disturbs this harmony anyway - the birth of Zac. He was born exactly in the Christmas night. His father called him "baby Jesus". This fact somehow predicts something special about him (fact confirmed later by "Madame Chose").

Zac received a gift from God (he could help others only thinking about their problems). The only disadvantage was that he couldn't help himself with anything. The first time when the parents realized that Zac has a special gift was when his mom gave Zac to hold his baby brother and he stopped crying. He also had a physical sign (a piece of lighter hair in the back of the head).

Zac actually hated Christmas (he didn't like the fact that his Birthday was in the same day with the Christmas night and he never got the presents he really wished).

The first signs of being gay have been shown by Zac when he started to wear his mother's clothes and to act like his mother (he was 5 or 6 years old). The brothers had a word often used to annoy each other : "fag" which means "gay". His father was really angry each time when he heard them saying it one to each other.

Religion was very important in Beaulieu's family. At least the mother has been a very religious person. She believed in God and she knew that Jesus can help her always when in trouble.

I think that Zac didn't want to be gay (he was praying not to feel this way anymore) but his feelings were above his power. He was raised with a Christian mentality and this made him to understand that was not natural what he did.

The only problematic sons were Zac and Raymond (the oldest). They were the abnormality from their family.

Zac eventually went to Jerusalem, I think he thought that this way he will cure from being gay, but this didn't really happen.

A funny thing was that his mother always felt when Zac happened something bad and by the power of mind and prayer she always could help him to get out of trouble.

In Jerusalem Zac said that "God works in mysterious ways, says my mom." (I think he also believed what he said).

I also have a couple of questions after my comments:
1. How is the religion placed in this movie? The role of it...
2. How could you describe the relation between Zac and his father? and between Zac and Raymond? (I believe these are the most relevant ones)
